Move to Montana

So we moved to Montana in December, and i had to pack up the mustang and load it on a trailer. I have it sitting outside under a tarp on the trailer until my shop becomes available. I am leasing an office space here in Montana that has a shop in it. So while I am at work, I can go to work on the mustang.
Here are some pics

302 Small Block

I have the engine block all cleaned up and painted. The rotating assembly is being internally balanced to improve the life of the engine. I will have pictures of the build up shortly.

Hinges and Doors

I had the door hinges blasted and powder coated after I removed the pin and bushings. That was a project. I took me about 2 hours to remove the pins and bushings, but managed. I got the hinges back from powder coating and started to reassemble them. This was a lot easier. I also had to re-tap the holes on the backing plates on both the frame of the car and on the doors. Some new bolts and they went on smooth. I had my neighbor come over and help out with hang the doors back on.

T5 Transmission

So I decided that the car was going to get a little restomod feel to with a T5 transmission. I have read that the swap is pretty straight forward and simple. I picked up a T5 from an 88 mustang for $120. Went through it and cleaned it all up. I am going to have to find a clutch pedal and have found a way to create my own hydraulic clutch system as well

Front Fenders

Got the front fenders and the hood hinges on.

Steering

I finished up installing the steering. I also installed one of the fenders just to check it out. I am trying to get this to the body shop in the next month, so I have a lot to get done.

Wheels On The Ground

I finally got the wheels on the ground. I finished up the front suspension and put the old wheels and tires back on the car. I will eventually upgrade the wheels to probably a 17 inch 5 spoke. I cut almost half a coil out of the the spring to help lower the front of the car. I did this slowly with a cut off wheel. I made sure that I didnt heat the coil up. As soon as it started to heat up I took a little break.
